- The Mach Loop Race
The ForderLearnToFly “Eye in the Sky” will be covering the event from way up! Come join the fun today as a couple dozen brave pilots tackle the famous Mach Loop racetrack in the sky in North Wales. This challenging race for pilots keeps you on your toes and your eyes wide open. Famous for military displays of “Top Gun” material. Categories include the low and the slow all the way up to the fastest jets we have in Microsoft Flight Simulator. No extra scenery is required as the stock photogrammetry is beautiful and is as hard to navigate as the real thing. Pilots have to stay low and make those turns. No time to admire the scenery. We have our partner, Orbx, giving away prizes for the winners and two giveaways for the viewers. We have our twitch moderators judging and air traffic control. We have most of the competing pilots turning on their video cameras when they are not flying. We will have great coverage of the event from all angles. Oh, and did I mention the ForderLearnToFly blimp? It all happens today, Saturday, June 12th at noon Eastern time, 1600 zulu. Bring your friends and relax and enjoy. This is going to get crazy! https://twitch.tv/ForderLearnToFly

- Learning A New Airplane Series
Our next few Tuesday Lessons will focus on learning to fly a new airplane. Many have taken the basic lessons and learned on a Cessna 152 or Cessna 172 just like real life pilot training. But when it comes to flying bigger planes and more complex propellers or engines, we just kind of wing it, and many times with disappointing results. In this series of lessons and demonstrations, we learn the overall strategy of learning to fly a new plane and specific details on how to do that for 4 major upgrades over 4 Tuesdays. Our first upgrade would be from conventional round gauges of a Cessna 152 to a Cessna 172 which is an easy upgrade. We just need to know the new Vx and Vy of the bigger plane. But this session will dive deeper into an upgrade from the Cessna 172 G100 plane (stock in the standard edition) to the Beechcraft G36 Bonanza with it’s retractable gear, high-performance engine and 6 seats. Faster and more complex, but not hard to learn if we use the right methodology. Come join Howard as we learn how to upgrade to a new plane properly so we are confident in flying your new airplane in Microsoft Flight Simulator. https://twitch.tv/ForderLearnToFly The Beechcraft G36 Bonanza – A high-performance six-seater single engine airplane in production the longest of any other aircraft. A sample screen from this session. These are the overall steps we will take. Then we apply them specifically to the G36 in this session. Here is the lineup for this lesson (G36) and future lessons on Tuesdays

- Tuesday Lesson: VORs
Learn to find, tune and use this valuable navigation aid in the cockpit. Join Howard for another Tuesday Lesson on flying using Microsoft Flight Simulator. The VOR. How to find them, tune them and use them. This handy radio navigation aid is the basis for cross-country precision location and guidance systems. Every plane has it, even the basic Cessna 152 trainer. When you hear the expression, “Fly the Needles” this is the basis for that method. Using one or two VORs and even the more elaborate ILS system to guide you in low visibility or just to check your position along the way. During the demonstration, Howard will take us from Oshawa airport near Toronto Canada to the Simcoe VOR, then outbound to Baldwin airport. Join us for another informative and clear lesson and demonstration on: Tuesday, May 11th at 5pm Eastern, 2100 zulu on https://twitch.tv/ForderLearnToFly
